Boat Repair - Water separator

Expert: Everett Peacock - 8/26/2009

Question
Dear Expert:
I'm looking for a water separator to place on my boat. It runs with a 2007 135 hp Mercury Optimax. The engine includes an integrated fuel/water separator. The technicians at the marina told me that the equipment doesn't need an additional filter.

What do you suggest? Do I need another fuel-water separator?

Answer
you can never have too many seperators.....and yes the engine has one...but when it fills up with water the water has no where to go but in the engine.....so if you change the first one every year it will be the cheatest thing to do.....
