Question
i bought a 1999 mercury 200hp with carbs and when they took it off the boat my head was up you know what with excitement any way i would like to know if it is alright to just plug the oil inj. line from oil reservoir to bypass auto oiler and also i have too large hose fittings on the starter side of motor one is at the bottom of motor case and the other is at the top probably 3/8 to 7/16 fitting do i run hose to connect or where do they go cant find in seloc mannuel thanks

Answer
you can not bypass the oil tank on that engine...the oil system on a Mercury 2 stroke is a pressurized system.  it has two hoses, one hose connect to the crankcase the other goes to the oil tank...the top of the tank has to be sealed...the pressure pushes the oil to the injectior pump then it mixes with gas and goes to the carbs...
