Question
QUESTION: I have two Suzuki DT - 150 Outboard Motors that were submerged in Salt water for about 48 hours and not flushed out for several weeks.  What kind of issues can I expect?  Should they be re-built?  Thank you.

ANSWER: When they come out of the water they must be serviced then. As soon as air gets it it starts rust...the harder the steel the easyer it rust...Crankshaft are very hard...All the electrical connections will need to be repaired. Best thing to do would be replace the powerheads and repair the wiring..

QUESTION: You rock Dude!  Thank you.  I've given you the best rating I can.
Unfortunately, I bought a boat and two Suzuki Motors from a used car dealer who did not disclose to me the boat and motor's had been completely submerged in salt water.  It's been a nightmare to try to get them to refund my money as the WA State RCW's require the dealer to have given me a full disclosure regarding this type of condition which they did not.  I don't know what to do but I think I'm screwed.  Any suggestion or ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated.  My local mechanic says they need a total rebuild on both motors.

Answer
You should be ok in court,,, if it was not disclosede ...did you buy as is....that could be a problem... look at the invoice....
if all fails I can send you powerheads UPS...

don't do a dealer rebuild...you will get screwed in parts and labor...get one allready remanufactured..just have them replaced..it is cheaper...with a warranty...
