Question
Stored boat over winter. Pulled out and steering is locked; working fine before storage. How do I troubleshoot this? '03 90hp Yamaha with Teleflex steering.
the problem is the tilt tube has rusted to the steering shaft that goes thru the engine..loosen the big nut that holds the cable in, then turn the wheel you should have the cable moving away from the mount......You are going to have to replace the tilt tube and cable...replace it with a stainless one...
