I need to know a few things... where is the alternator on the motor what does it look like. also where do the battery cables connect to on the motor im stumped... I guess the motor has been sitting for about a year what do you think should be done before getting it started..

The engine has a stator or charge coil under the flywheel. there are magnets in the flywheel that go around the coils and it creates a ac voltage..that ac voltage is turned in to dc voltage by the rectifer...it has two yellow wires and a red to it...pull the carbs off and remove the float bowl and inspect for varnish....good luck..
