Question
I have a 93 50 hp,mod J50TLETB.It has always been a hard start, but once fired would restart easily from than on.Even when i would use it all weekend after first hard start,it would be fine.longer it sat in drive the harder to start.I am checking spark, and had carbs rebuilt 4 years ago.Am I not following cols start procedures?Last time I tried it did not light at all.I have heard maybe power pack,is there a way to check this/Any help is appreciated.thanks!

Answer
check spark at the plugs when cranking....normal starting procedure is..pump fuel bulb up tight, lift warm up lever...hold key in while cranking..that is if you do not have a seperate switch for the choke...when it starts you let the choke come off, after a little running it should be able to idle then...
