Boat Repair/Water in my oil

Question
Hi,

1st of all, I have a 1998 2052 bayliner capri 4.3 mercuriser 190hp 6 cyl.

3 weeks ago I tried starting it, it turned over about 3 times and stopped, now itjust clicks. After more investigation, I found, I had water in my oil. The motor was running fine at the end of last years season.

I drained the oil and removed the oil filter. Pure water came out 1st and then came the mix (water and oil).

I believe the water jackets have to be removed before I can remove the spark plugs ad put lubication so I don't damage the piston rings when and if I get it started after I install filter and put new oil in it.

My question is:  Where did the water come from?  Water jacket gaskets or somewhere else?

With boat mech. getting 105 dollars an hour, I just can't afford to take it to a Marina on social security.

I hope you can help me or enlighten me.
