i have a mercury 888 stern drive on a 1977 cobalt boat. how full do i get the oil level in the stern drive? i have a top plug and bottom plug are the resevoirs connected?

there are two plugs on the sterndrive, one at the top and one at the bottom... remove both plugs and let drain..Pump new lower unit oil in from the bottom untill oil comes out of the top one..then tighten top plug, remove oil tube and tighten bottom one...standard lower unit oil is all you need..
