Question
I have an older model alpha outdrive 1988 - 1991.  My shift shaft keeps falling out of its slot.  What do i do to keep it from falling out?

there is a rubber washer and a metal one that the upper shaft rest on....that raises the shaft swhaft enough to stay in the slot....when the drive was put together they lost or left out the washer.metal and or rubber one......
