Hi i have a 86 40 hp suzuki and don't know the name of the part but the gear case right behind the prop there is two bolts it got water in the gear case from the owner and i didint know so winter came and froze the water and broke both ears where the bolts is off is a 86 the only year that will fit it and is it hard to replace thanks .

there will be a year range also..but most two cylinder gearcasesare for that ony but you can check,.,find a lower unit and swap it out.
