We have ns15b2 nissan outboard and have lost spark. Before it quit the engine would cut-out between 1/3 to 3/4 throttle. We suspect the CD unit but would like to make sure before investing in new one.

there are a couple items to check... there is a stator under the flywheel that puts out an AC voltage , at least 150 on high side and 50 on the low side,m  there is a sensor under the flywheel it puts out about 5 or above volts AC.  if they all check out ok then replace the module..
