Question
I have a 1993 Mercury 150 hp outboard. i went out to check my batteries for charge and noticed the motor trimed all the way up. i tryed to lower it but the battery was dead. i then charged the battery and tried to lower it but would not go down. anything i did it still would not go down. i unscrewed the screw to check the fluid level and it was full. i thought when i did that the motor would go down but no. i hear the trim motor when i try to lower and raise but still nothing. please help.

Answer
sounds like you had a short in the trim harness somewhere and it trimmed up and ran the battery dead.  there is a manual release valve on the side of the transom assy. turn with a flat head screw driver and let the engine down manualy.  try to use the battery then to move the engine up or down.. you may have a stuck releif valve in the trim unit and it may need to be replaced.
