Boat Repair/Slipping Drive

Question
Have an older 70's model Johnson 115 HP. Had it on the lake recently and the tranny seems to be slipping. was wondering if it is a possibility that it is low on gear oil or something else. It has been a couple years since boat has been in the water. Seems to run great till I get it up to 22-25 miles an hour then its like it slips out of gear. Your advice would be great.
Thanks, Rick

Answer
sounds like a worn clutch dog...check oil in lower unit. it should have no water...what happens if not adjusted corectly or from age the clutch dog and the gear ramps get worn.. making it jump out of gear at high speed..
