Hi Everett,

I have a problem:  after years of winterizing our 1992 Blue Fin with a stock Mercruiser 3.0 4 Cylinder, I got sick in the fall and was never able to winterize.  THe freeze occurred quickly, and I was caught off guard.  This used to be my father's boat and I purchased it from his estate after he had died unexpectedly.  I am no stranger to car engines and small engines, but this will be my first project of this kind, and the boat has sentimental value.
So my questions are:  Should I take it to the dealer to assess what is broken or can I find the issues myself?  How much money is something like this going to cost if I were to take to a dealer to fix/or if I do it myself?  Are there manuals or books that would offer step by step instructions, such as Chilton, etc?

there are several manuals that are available for that engine...first see if you can find where it is leaking...it may have pushed out a freeze plug..if it did then you should be able to reinstall it...check it out and let me know.. I will help you all I can...
