Question
Hi
I am 28 y old female, 5'2 height and 145 pounds weight. I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis grade 2 in 2003, since then I have had pain once every 1.5 years. Last one was in June 2011. I started kickboxing and resistance bands in July 2011, was doing OK. started lifting some weights recently, and boom!! came pain again now after 1.5 years. My Physical therapist says I should never do kickboxing and he doesn't explain me what should I do to lose weight and build strong core muscles. Please help. My goal weight is 120 pounds and I wanna fight this problem and not hate it!!

Answer
As I am sure you are more than aware, Spondylolisthesis is a condition in which a bone (vertebra) in the lower part of the spine slips out of the proper position onto the bone below it. Unfortunately, I am only an expert in contest bodybuilding and no the medical aspect of it. All I can suggest that that you speak with your physical therapist and explain that you want to continue kickboxing.
