Question
QUESTION: One of my best friends in Fort Lee High School was Al Parinello who played guitar many years ago and knew Bon Jovi when he was small. I understand through Al's cousin that Bon Jovi had Al's initials put on his guitar after Al passed away. Also, he paid for Al's funeral. Is this true? If so, that shows the measure of a great man.

ANSWER: Hi Tony
This would be a private thing with Jon Bon Jovi.
The band is Bon Jovi and the singer in the band is Jon.So I guess this is who your referring to'

Jon has a number of guitars so it may be possible he has done this

QUESTION: I was indeed speaking about Jon Bon Jovi. Your answer  was it may be possible. You don't know? I am almost certain that this is true and if it is, why wouldn't Jon want it known that Al Parinello taught him the guitar? This would be a great thing for Al's family and friends to remember him by.

Answer
Hi Tony
I can't be anymore pacific than to say that Jon Bon Jovi is a very private person. He does not go public on everything he does.
He contributes many things to many people but does not publish these things to the media.
Jon apparently paid for Al's funeral so they must have been close.
I can't tell you positively about the intials on his guitar because I don't know this for sure.

Thank you for your question
