They were indeed at the Sullivan Arena in 1989.  I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB at the time and was there.  They were touring with Skid Row, however it was only Bon Jovi in Anchorage. They opened with Lay Your Hands On Me with Jon popping up from the middle of the stage

Actually, yes, they were there at the Sullivan Arena.  I can't remember which year for SURE, but I was pretty certain it was 1987.  It was my first concert.

They def played two shows on the new jersey tour.  The second night was my first ever concert and I was in the 1st grade I believe

I was there at the concert. Bon Jovi had 2 dates 13th and 14th may 1989 at the Sullivan Arena. I saw the show on the 14th of May. I still have the concert stub. I was stationed at Fort Richardson in the US Army.

Cathy -

I do not remember the exact dates, but they did play 3 shows in Anchorage. I believe it was in 1989.

I was part of the security personnel for Ogden Allied Services, who managed the Sullivan Arena at that time. I was also present on staff for all three shows, positioned on the back corridor (to the dressing rooms)on the first night and in the pit between the stage and the barricade for the second and third show.

I lived in Anchorage from 1987-1993 and I think I remember Bon Jovi being there at some point. I cannot find my ticket stub.

Bon Jovi played at the Sullivan Arena in 1988. I believe it was a last minute add on concert before the European leg of their New Jersey tour. I know the concert happened because I was there!

I have been a Bon Jovi follower/admirer for twenty plus years and I am a complete music lover. I believe I have a broad minded insight into the band, as I am Australian born, New York based and the observations made in regards to the differences and similarities with fans, the charts, the media attitude and more continues to be very interesting for me. I believe that each band member brings their own magic to the BJ table and collectively they give the fans and the music world something unique and special. In this, I always look at the band as equal parts of the equation. I have also worked for a record company and have been involved in artist promotion. The behind-the-scenes activity is both fascinating and challenging at times, and there is always something to be learnt!

Long time Bon Jovi devotee with a genuine interest in the band and their music. However, I cannot provide in depth answers relating to chords and musical arrangements and song format, etc. As a non-musician I know the basics of instruments used by the band but nothing too detailed. I also know the basics in terms of chart positioning, managment and official fan club information, road crew and the like. And I can help in regards to band lyrics and their extensive discography.
