Question
I have seen the boxsets for the full Bonanza seasons, 1-14, or sold seperately at differents sites like www.123classictv.com and www.ultimatedvdshop.com and I was wondering if these deals are fake or whether they are actually selling the seasons.  Just wanted to check before plopping down my hard earned money.  thanks

Answer
My understanding is that those sets are not "authorized versions" of Bonanza.  David Dortort and NBC own the show and they have not launched an official collectors edition yet.  My understanding is that the only place you can get all 14 seasons is off of Amazon in the Netherlands - they received permission - however the episodes are not in English though you can run an english version and cannot play on US DVD players without a special code.  We hope every day that Mr. Dortort will give permission but I don't know when that will happen.

Did you know there is a Bonanza convention being planned for September 2009 in Lake Tahoe?  It will be announced soon.  check out www.bonanza-convention.com for more info.
