Question
What can you tell me about Canada Savings Bonds or savings bonds in general? I know nothing about it.

Answer
I really don't know anything about Canadian Savings Bonds.
As for the U.S., you are investing small amounts in the Treasury.
You can choose bonds that pay fixed coupons, floating coupons, or even those that have a small coupon, but pay more return based on higher inflation.

People like savings bonds because they have the ultimate government guarantee and you can buy small denominations.
