Question
ummm, well my mom got me a bonsai today and it doesn't have a tag on it that says what kind of tree it is, and i was wondering if you might be able to help me out. it has a light tannish bark, thats rough, like an old grape vine, and its about six to eight inches high, maybe a foot high if i had to guess on what height it was, with short rounded leaves that are light green at the top and bright green for new foliage and a deeper green on the bottom and for the older leaves. it has a strange order to the leaves yet symmetrical in a way, and i really just have no clue what kind of tree this bonsai is. if ya can help me i'd be gratified.
       please help!
Tyler.

Answer
Tyler,

It would help to see a picture of the bonsai. I would also recommend posting your question and picture on Learning2Bonsai.com. It's a forum dedicated to bonsai gardening and if i can't determine the trees species, someone on http://www.Learning2Bonsai.com will be able to help you.

thank you
