Hi Jim,
     I have a original vintage book by architect Samuel Solan. The book is called "The Modern Architect" a design of plantations and villa's. It has a entered into congress date of 1851.This must be the copy or printed date. the cover on the front is loose from use,but all of the pages are like new.I have'nt been able to find much on this book.Do you have any idea on value,and on web links for more info. Also in your opinion would it be wise to sell or to hang on to.    Thanks, Ken

Hi, Ken.

Your book is worth up to $756.  Because of the loose cover, it is probably worth less than $756.

If that's a lot of money to you, I'd definitely sell it.

The book you have is actually called "The Model Architect".  Yours is a first edition.  It was first published in 1852.  It was probably registered in the Library of Congress a year before its publication.
