Question
what do he mean when he peter states "the journey into history into the Armenian genocide was for me inseparable from poetry how is the connection between history and poetry related to the kind of memory balakians refers to on page 27"a kind of memory that is related to something larger than my life?

Answer
Gerri,

I am not sure what book you are referring to, Or the author. For me to be able to give a better response, I would need that information. However, Poetry is immensely influenced by tragic, romantic, and heroic historical events. poetry is the result of reflection in a time of peace, on things that greatly disturbed or impassioned the poet. Thus I would guess that the author is referring to the Armenian genocide as something so much larger and terrible than anything he had ever imagined that it inspired his poetry. I hope this helps.
