Question I`d like to buy lots of graphic design, computer graphics, and multimedia books, but they`re so expensive. If I buy used books, it`s very hard to find current stuff. If I order through the web, the shipping cost to Hawaii makes it less advantageous than just going to Borders.
Q: Is there a book club that offers discounts in the subject areas that I`m interested in and is the shipping cost reasonably small?
Are there other options?
Thanks,
Rand
Answer Thanks for asking this question. I didn't know that such book clubs exist, but indeed they do!
There you will find a link to "Computer Graphics & Animation Book Club" (The direct URL is too long to do you any good.)
Joining one of their 23 book clubs gives you access to the books offered by all of them, so you can take advantage of the "Computer Books Direct" (for example) Book Club also.
Unfortunately, they do not specify the cost of shipping/handling.
"How much will I be charged for shipping and handling?
It depends on the weight and the number of items you buy. The more you buy the less you have to pay for shipping and handling per item. "
My experience in the past is that the shipping and handling fee for book clubs is painful if you order only one book, but quite reasonable if you order two or more.
