Question
QUESTION: Hello-
My company is relocating to Boston, and I was recently offered to relocate. I am looking for an area within the Boston city limits that is "affordable". However, I do have a dog, and I am particularly interested in a cultural area. Any suggestions??

I will be visiting next week to look at different areas, just wanted some input from someone that isn't trying to sell me something.

Thanks!

ANSWER: Are we talking about searching for a home or renting an apartment?

Do you have a family?

QUESTION: I am single and would like to rent a studio or one bedroom apartment. Ideally, I would like to be close to work, but I know rental rates are pretty steep near Back Bay.

Answer
Well, one bedroom rates with a dog will go anywhere from $1000 - $2000 downtown in Beacon Hill or Back Bay.  If you look in the NOrth End, or WEst End, South Boston, Davis Square; Harvard/Cambridge, all nice areas..it will be a little bit cheaper.

For culture, you really want to be downtown...no better place, everything at your fingertips....you can't go wrong...

Do a apartment search on craigslist to get a better idea of prices for apartments and what not before you come up to Boston....
