Question
Hi,

we're planning a short visit to boston and surroundings around July 4. any particular place you'd recommend for 4th of july? Looking into US history that day and street parade/public party? What about surroundings? we're sea/lake lovers + kid 15 yrs. Thanks

Answer
Head to Boston.com; they always have a list of events going on July 4 in and around the city.  The city has a huge party on Esplanade -- nationally telecasted on CBS across the U.S.  You can show up early, catch the Boston Pops!, and special musical guests, which in the past have been Aerosmith, and many more.

Anything other than this is really just second place to the event.
