Is there any available old footage from early TV broadcasts of the Celtics between 1950-1954? How would I go about buying any or downloading any? My father played those years & he died when I was 12. No one in the family has any.

This sounds like something where you might want to contact the NBA itself, to see where you can get access to their video library.
