Boston Celtics - The sale of the Celtics in 1985.

Expert: Fabio Anderle - 6/18/2008

Question
Someone bought  the Celtics in 1985 or 6. Was that Gastone?
How much for? Where is he now?

CP

Answer
In 1983 Donald F. Gaston, along with Alan Cohen and Paul Dupee  bought the Celtics from former owner Harry T. Mangurian for $18 million. In 1993 Paul Gaston (a motocross enthusiast who used to race professionally in AMA National Championship events) succeeded his father Donald, and in September 2002 Paul Gaston sold the Celtics for $360 million to an investment group led by venture capitalists Steve Pagliuca and Wycliffe Grousbeck, as well as Grousbeck's father, H. Irving Grousbeck. The group still owns the team.
I hope this helps

Fabio
