Question
My dad,mo mahoney, played the second half of the 1952-1953 season with the Celtics.I believe he replaced Gene Conley, who went to spring training with the Red Sox. I have searched and searched to find a picture of my dad in a Celtic uniform to show his grandchilden, all big C's fans, to no avail. I .would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Thank You

Answer
Mickey,

although I pride myself of being one of the most knowledgeable Boston Celtics historians around and to own one of the most complete collections of former Celtics photos (321 pics in alphabetic order from Alaa Abdelnaby to A.J. Wyndner), I have never ever been able to find a shot of your father.

I scoured the net (Getty Images, Life, and so on),  I have checked on my 42 books bibliography about the Celtics, to no avail.

I know about Francis Mahoney, his time at Brown University, his tour of duty in Korea, his life after the stint in the NBA with Boston and Baltimore. I will ask some other historians if they manage to find a photo of him.

any time, I will update you on my research. In the meantime, Happy New Year to you and to your "Celtic Family"...
