Question
Which Celtic players have worn the #22 over the years?

Answer
Hi Jim,

only three Celtics players used #22:
"Big Ed" Sadowski donned it in the 1947-48 season, Bob Kinney used it from 1948 to 1950, and then came "Easy Ed" Macauley and wore it from 1950 to 1956.
In 1956 Macauley was traded to the St. Louis Hawks, in the Bill Russell trade. A few years later the Boston Celtics' owner decided to honor Macauley, one of the first Celtics true start, retirinh the jersey. On October 16, 1963 #22 was raised to the Boston Garden's rafters, the first number to be retired in Celtics' history.
I hope this helps
