Boston Celtics/60s Celtic's Shoe Color?

Question
Were the Celtics shoes of the mid 60s black or dark green?  A response ASAP would be truly appreciated.

Answer
Former Celtics coach and general manager Arnold "Red" Auerbach always insisted that his players wear black sneakers ... The reason? When white (or light-colored) sneakers get dirty it's more noticeable, which means you have to constantly buy new sneakers for the players; with black sneakers, the scuff marks and such are more easily "hidden", meaning that the players can wear them longer.

A simple cost-saving strategy used by one of the greatest basketball minds in history ... And, just for the record, I don't think green-colored sneakers would have gone over too well in the 1960s-era NBA; too gaudy-looking :)
