Boston Celtics/Quinn Buckner

Question
Did Quinn Buckner ever play for the Boston Celtics?

Answer
He most certainly did ... For three seasons (1982-83 through 1984-85), Buckner was a member of Team Green.

Wearing jersey number 28, Quinn (a 6'3" guard) came to the Celtics in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks for the rights to Dave Cowens ... Frankly, this deal was a steal for Boston, as Cowens had recently retired (he never played a game for Milwaukee) whereas Buckner was a starter for the Bucks and had been named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team four times.

However, Buckner's role with Boston was mostly relegated to the bench (although he did help win the NBA championship in 1984) and he would wind up ending his pro career with the Indiana Pacers in 1986.

Buckner is currently a basketball analyst for ESPN, and he also serves as vice president of USA Basketball.
