AnswerHi, Jim,
well, your question is quite a riddle. In fact, McAdoo never played a game in the same roster of Maravich: "Pistol Pete" became a member of the Boston Celtics (January 22, 1980) exactly 138 days after Bob McAdoo had been traded (September 6, 1979) to the Detroit Pistons. So, during the 1977-'78 season Boston fielded only one former NBA Scoring Champion (Dave Bing), in the 1978-'79 they had two (McAdoo and Archibald), and in 1979-'80 campaign they counted two again (Archibald and Maravich).
The Buffalo Braves' Smith was Randy Smith, a crafty scorer who averaged 16.7 points per game in his 11 years career, but never managed to win a NBA scoring title, nor to be part of the Boston Celtics.
I hope this helps....
