Hi,
My name is adrianne I am wondering if you know where i could find info on a player named marlen garnet. I can't remember what year he played but it was between 1998-2001. He played for the celtics for one season and then left to go over seas to play with spain. Thanks for your help

Hi, Adrianne,
Marlon Garnett, a dead-eye shooter with an uncanny feeling for the basket played college ball in Santa Clara, but since no NBA team showed interest in him in the 1997 draft, he played one season in the Turkish League for Adalya Vakis. In 1998-'99 his hustle and scoring abilities impressed Rick Pitino (who was scouting Paul Pierce in a Los Angeles Summer League), so he joined the Boston Celtics averaging 2.1 points and 0.9 rebounds per game. The following season he moved to the CBA to play with the Grand Rapids and in 2000-01 he joined Estudiantes of Spain where he averaged a 46% from the arc. In 2001-2002 an ankle injury ended a great season for him (17 points per game in the Spanish League).
In 2002 he signed for Olimpia Milano in the Italian League, but he was slowed down by right foot and knee injuries. The following season he signed an offer sheet for another italian team, Sicilia Messina, where he proved he still had the skills averaging 18.9 points per game (9th in the league) with a good 43.7% from three point range and a whopping 90.5% on free throw shooting. His great performances granted him a call from the GM of an italian historical basketball powerhouse, Benetton Treviso, where he will play the next season. I hope this helps
