well, I don't recall the picture you are talking about, but since the two giants faced off from 1959 (Chamberlain's rookie year) until 1969 (the year Russell retired) there were four Celtics using #18 in that span: Jim Loscutoff (1955-64), John Thompson (1964-66, also wore #5), Woody Sauldsberry (1965-66) and Bailey Howell (1966-70). If the player you see in the photo is caucasian, he can be either Loscutoff or Howell, if he is afroamerican he can be Thompson or Sauldsberry. Loscutoff had blond hair while Howell was black haired, and if the "2 hall of famers in 70" thing you wrote is correct, it is quite probable that the Celtics donning the #18 jersey is Bailey Howell.
