Question
I was a young boy when my dad took me to Fenway for the first time. I think I remember it being a no hitter and to make it more unique I think the Boston pitcher hit  home run to win his own game...did this ever happen? It was on my birthday at end of june.maybe early 60's???. Do I have this even close?

Answer
June 26, 1962, Earl Wilson vs. Los Angeles Angels, 2-0

Below is the link for the June 26, 1962 Box Score . . .

On August 1, 1962, Bill Monboquette, also pitched a no-hitter at Chicago, 1-0. But didn't hit a HR . . . .

Expertise

Boston Red Sox players, team & Fenway Park statistics and history are my strengths. Boston's minor league teams are not.

Experience

I've been attending Red Sox games yearly at Fenway Park since 1969. I thrive on Bosox trivia. I have been a huge Red Sox fan since I was 12 years old. My knowledge of Carl Yastrzemski is exceptional. He was my boyhood hero and I still miss his (hard-nose, give 100% every game) playing style to this day. I 'live & die' with the Red Sox every season, game and even every inning.
