Question
My Uncle just gave me a stub from an old Sox game.  There is no date or year on it but it lists April 19 Box B85 Seat 2.  Seat price is $1.50 with $0.30 tax for a total of $1.80 (how times have changed).  There is no opponenet listed.  The back of the stub stes NEW FENWAY PARK built by Coleman Bros. Corp.
Any idea to what year it amy have been?

Answer

Fenway Park, since 191
After a major fire on January 5, 1934, which destroyed much of Fenway Park, Coleman Brothers, Corp was brought in to fix the park,($575,000 worth of repairs and the wooden grandstands were replaced with steel and concrete grandstands. The seats were and still are made of solid oak.), and since the stub has "NEW FENWAY PARK" on it, I'd say it was for the 04-19-1934 game vs Washington Senators.

Don't loose that ticket!

Expertise

Boston Red Sox players, team & Fenway Park statistics and history are my strengths. Boston's minor league teams are not.

Experience

I've been attending Red Sox games yearly at Fenway Park since 1969. I thrive on Bosox trivia. I have been a huge Red Sox fan since I was 12 years old. My knowledge of Carl Yastrzemski is exceptional. He was my boyhood hero and I still miss his (hard-nose, give 100% every game) playing style to this day. I 'live & die' with the Red Sox every season, game and even every inning.
