Question
When did the Red Sox score 12 or more runs in one inning?  They did it tonight.  May 7, 2009.  Thanks for the answer

Answer
As far as I can know, this was their first time. They tied the MLB record. Boston broke the AL record of 11 runs in an inning before making an out and tied the modern major league mark of 12. The Red Sox tied the mark for games since 1900 set by the Brooklyn Dodgers on May 24, 1953. The Dodgers had 12 runs in the eighth inning of a 16-2 win at Philadelphia, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

The previous AL record was set by the Detroit Tigers, who scored 11 runs in the sixth inning in a 19-1 win at the New York Yankees on June 17, 1925.

Boston Red Sox players, team & Fenway Park statistics and history are my strengths. Boston's minor league teams are not.

Experience

I've been attending Red Sox games yearly at Fenway Park since 1969. I thrive on Bosox trivia. I have been a huge Red Sox fan since I was 12 years old. My knowledge of Carl Yastrzemski is exceptional. He was my boyhood hero and I still miss his (hard-nose, give 100% every game) playing style to this day. I 'live & die' with the Red Sox every season, game and even every inning.
