Question
I bought a 14kt yellow gold diamond 2004 Red Sox World Series ring with the 'B'in diamonds on the top in a red stone. On one side it says "Believe" with the trophy and the other side has the name Bill Dillon and the Red Sox logo. Engraved inside is Intergold 14kt. what do you know about this ring and do you know of Bill Dillon?

Answer

2004RedSoxWSRing
I would guess that Bill Dillon was a Red Sox fan who had it made for himself because Intergold makes replicas of all the major sports championship rings. Jostens Jewelers of Boston made the original rings for Red Sox. I was wondering where you purchased it and what it went for?
What it sounds like is that the rings the players and those closest to the team get will cost about $40,000 each.  There might be 40 or 50 of those. The other 450 or so people who got a ring will get a smaller one, but still I imagine, these smaller rings will cost several thousand dollars each. Although this really is out of my
expertise, I hope I helped a little.

Commentthank you very much for the quick and knowledgeable response. I bought the ring at my jewelry store from a customer who said her dad who loved the Red Sox passed away and left it to her. I paid $300.00 for the ring. It is worth that in gold alone.

Expertise

Boston Red Sox players, team & Fenway Park statistics and history are my strengths. Boston's minor league teams are not.

Experience

I've been attending Red Sox games yearly at Fenway Park since 1969. I thrive on Bosox trivia. I have been a huge Red Sox fan since I was 12 years old. My knowledge of Carl Yastrzemski is exceptional. He was my boyhood hero and I still miss his (hard-nose, give 100% every game) playing style to this day. I 'live & die' with the Red Sox every season, game and even every inning.
