Boston Red Sox/Red Sox Tickets

Question
Hello. I live in Northern Michigan, and am a HUGE baseball fan. Some buddies of mine and I are planning a trip to Boston sometime during the 2008 season. The only thing is this ; we want to see a 3 game series, but we don't want to pay a premium for the tickets. I figure that the Devil Rays would probably be an opponent that would be least desired, and that we should probably plan to go to a Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday series. Can you let me know our best bet for tickets? I heard that tickets to half of the games go on sale in December, and the rest in February. With travel expenses, we will not be able to afford to buy tix on StubHub or eBay. Do you think that we'll be able to get through on the web-site to get 3 tickets together for 3 consecutive games? What month would be best? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Answer
First of all, thanks for your question.
Now try to understand that the Red Sox are THE hardest team to get tickets for. They currently have sold out every game for 5 years straight and counting. Fans from the Boston area have some to realize the best & sometimes the only way to see the Sox live is to go on the road with them to Toronto, Baltimore or even New York.
With that said, your best bet to get any tickets would be in December. Be persistent! Best of luck!

Expertise

Boston Red Sox players, team & Fenway Park statistics and history are my strengths. Boston's minor league teams are not.

Experience

I've been attending Red Sox games yearly at Fenway Park since 1969. I thrive on Bosox trivia. I have been a huge Red Sox fan since I was 12 years old. My knowledge of Carl Yastrzemski is exceptional. He was my boyhood hero and I still miss his (hard-nose, give 100% every game) playing style to this day. I 'live & die' with the Red Sox every season, game and even every inning.
