QUESTION: My BT is 15 months and I cant get her to gain weight. I feed her iams puppy and I even make her rice and hamburger. She has access to the dry food at all times and give her 1 cup of the rice mixture a day. She has been checked for worms and all came back neg. I just dont like her looking anorexic. I am taking her back to the vet Wed though. Thank you!

ANSWER: Hi Amanda, I can offer you some much better foods than the Iams.
Are you in the USA or other?  I would be glad to refer you to some good brands that can be found at your local pet store.

QUESTION: I am in the US. She isnt taking any form of supplements right now. I have tried switching her food gradually but it gives her diarrhea. She is very sensitive to everything thats why I have to watch what I feed her at all which isnt fun! TY for your help, I just want her to look normal!

Ok Amanda, Let's fix this kid up!  I am glad she has seen the vet and has been Cleared from Worms.... good job.

Let's get some Homemade dog food into her - along with the Iams puppy... If she is doing well on the Iams and not vomiting it up... we can leave her on that food.
Add some cooked ground turkey - 1/2 cup and some rice (1/4) cup -
Mix this into some dry puppy Iams food each day.
GET her to eat what she can tolerate....

Also, please give her 1/8 of a cup of canned pumpkin per day - the NO sugar added kind - pure canned pumpkin.
Also, please give her some hamburger -  rotate the turkey ( ground) and the hamburger ( ground)  ( ASK you have before)

NEXT - add the following supplements to her diet:
Give 1 (150 IU ) of Vitamin E per day - for 1 month... AFTER that, go to (1) Vit E - every other day:

Add some Salmon oil- pure - give just 1 teaspoon per day - If she can tolerate it, give 2 teaspoons per day.  I know you said she has a weak belly.

If you want to try a High Protein food / you can add 1/4 a cup of this per day to her other foods:
SOLID Gold Barking at the MOON - Excellent food to help any doggie gain weight and bulk... ( sold at most pet stores)
