Bowie, David - David Bowie

Expert: Laura Kathryn - 4/11/2007

Question
Hi, I was wondering about a song he wrote, Baal's Hymn....what does this song mean??

Answer
Sorry for the delay on an answer. Baal's Hymn was not actually written by David Bowie, but is part of Bertolt Brecht’s play Baal. Bowie starred in this for the BBC version in 1982 and recoded the songs for it. Baal’s Hymn, Remembering Marie A,
Ballad of the Adventurers, The Drowned Girl, and The Dirty Song were all released on the Baal EP 1982.
