Bowling/10 pin

Question
I'm very new to bowling and lately have been trying to work on my spares.  But I could really use some help on how to pick up the 10 pin.  I either throw it in the gutter or miss it inside.  I'd appreciate any advice on where i should aim, stand, and release.

Answer
Do you try to throw a hook at your 10 pin?  If so, that is part of the problem.  The straighter you can shoot at them, the more you will make.  It sounds like you need to shoot them using more of the middle of the lane.  Even if you still hook it, the farther left you can move on the approach, the better your chances.

Good luck,
