Question
Hi Chip
I am using a Storm T-Road Pearl and find that I am not getting enough reaction and have to play a very tight line. I recently added a T-Road Solid and there is not much difference either. I am a right handed stroker with medium speed and rotation; releasing at board 12 from right and standing at board 15 from right. Both balls are drilled similarly with Pin at 4 o’clock about 1˝” from ring finger. CG is between finger and thumb holes. I am releasing with thumb at 10-11 o’clock and the balls consistently tracked right of the middle finger across to the right of the thumb hole, sometimes rolling over the thumb hole. What should I do to achieve better reaction? Thanks. Fong

Answer
Is the pin below the middle of your grip?

It sounds like you are not rotation counter-clockwise through your release.  This will cause the ball to want to roll over the holes and have a more forward roll.  This is great for control, but will not give the ball any energy to change direction down the lane.  Make sure you rotate your fingers around the ball counter clockwise during your release and that will help.  Do not rotat them past the 3 oclock position as that will create spin, but not hook.

Good luck,
Chip
