Bowling/equiment for wood lanes

Question
I roll a relatively slow ball and the lanes are wood,  what type of equipment would you recommend?

Answer
Do  you have a ball of you own now?  If so, what kind is it?

It depends more on the lane condition or patter that is used than it does the type of lane surface, within reason.  A bad surface, wood or synthetic, will cause problems.

Slower ball speeds tend to need polished coverstocks and weaker types of cores.  This would be true no matter what the lane surface.  If you do not already own a ball, look at something like the Columbia Scouts or the Brunswick Groove.  If you want a bit more hook potential, look at the Ebonite Tornado of the Storm Tropical Storms.

Good luck,
Chip
