Question
If I was looking to get more information about drilling and
different layouts and what the ball reaction will be to
those layout where would I go or could you tell me. I heard
a comment several times about pro working the inside of the
ball and amateurs working the outside could you explain,
because it seems more than just staying behind the ball?

For layout information and potential ball reaction, go to any of the bowling manufacturers web sites.  Morich, Storm, and Ebonite have some of the best.

The inside and outside of the ball comment is the position the hand is during the downswing.  Most of the pros tend to have their hand open during the downswing and wait much longer to rotate their hand.  Most amateurs turn their hand much earlier, some even before the ball starts into the downswing.  That is the reason some bowlers can hook the ball more than others.
