Bowling/adjusting

QuestionI just got a dull finish a few days ago, and a great job was done by Galka. when i saw it it looked like it did when i just bought it so there must have been a ton of oil on it that i didnt realize. so im just wondering how often should i go to get a dull finish? and im also wondering, does it help at all to use rubbing alcohol on my ball to get some oil off of it?
also, what should i do to adjust--as to where to move, where to aim, and how far to throw--to dryer lanes and more oily lanes??
thanks for your help.
AnswerTom,
First wipe the ball off every shot. Minimizes the oil build up.
Clean the ball after every session (rubbing alcohol works). Cleaning maintains the new surface.
Sand the ball whenever you see the track area of the ball begin to smooth out or shine up. Resurface it when the cover begins to nick up and you see a significant lessening in performance.
Your last question is a novella of an answer. You miss right move right. Miss left move left.
Specifics of ball speed, lane conditions, rev rate, balls in play and specific adjustment needs, all enter into the possibilities for adjustments. You can also adjust with changes in hand position, ball speed, ball choice, and moves on the lane.
Best of luck with your bowling. Let me know what specific questions you have on adjusting.
