QuestionDoes the ball have to be drilled and the bowlers fingers and thumb be in the ball to be legal?
AnswerSam,
There are some static weight requirements for bowling balls. If a ball satisfies those requirements (even undrilled) it is legal.
If the ball has holes (up to five gripping holes), if the fingers or thumb covers the hole, the digit is using the hole for gripping. The fingers or thumb doesn't have to be inserted into the ball to utilize the hole for gripping.
Thanks for the question. Good bowling.
