Question
QUESTION: I recently purchased a Storm Gravity Shift and had it drilled per their house shot specifications.  The ball is flattening out right before it hits the pins.  What could be causing this flattening out?  I am a 200 bowler and throw the ball fairly well.  It seems to reacts well, start to arc toward the pocket and then just stops.

Please HELP!!!

ANSWER: It sounds like you are trying to cover too many boards and the ball is just running out of energy, or side rotation, before it gets to the breakpoint.  Try to play a tighter line to the pocket or increase your side rotation.

Good luck,
Chip

QUESTION: Chip - What is the best way to increase side rotation??

Answer
You will need to create more counter clockwise rotation of you hand during the release.  Pete Weber is probably the best on tour at doing that.  Try tossing a football underhand into a chair while making it a perfect spiral.  That is the release position you need to be in at the release point with your bowling ball.

Good luck,
Chip
