Question What do these terms mean?
carry down?
burning up? (this really confused me on what they are trying to explain)
Im a new bowler and I recently received the bowlersparadise 2 for 1 thing and received the 15 lb main ball and a twisted fury. I drilled the twisted fury and it has very little hook to it. I dont know how to explain where the holes are at other than the finger holes are around 3/4 inch on either side of the yellow dot and the thumb hole is below the yellow dot.
Ive bowled twice using the ball so far and I notice that I take a layer of skin on the outside of my thumb (facing palm down the skin is lightly getting tore below the joint of the thumb) and skin being torn on the inside of my ring finger above the first joint.
I am holding the ball as a fingertip ball with the yellow plugs and my thumb is all the way in until the webbing between the thumb and index finger. Please let me know what you need to know so I can best ask the question.
Thank you...
Answer Usually a beginner does not go with fingertip grips. They are best starting out with a conventional grip(fingers into 2nd joint).People need to learnwhat their style is & accuracy.Your having problems from not knowing if your a cranker, stroker or tweener.Your forcing everything. Forcing only gets you frustrated.LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR BODY WANTS TO DO & WORK WITH THAT.>>> WORK WITH YOUR BODY! <<<
GET OUT THERE WITHOUT THINKING & JUST THROW THE BALL. DON'T THINK & DON'T LOOK. YOUR EYES & MIND IS A VERY BAD THING ON THE APPROACH & WILL FAIL YOU. YOUR BODY & SUBCONSCIOUS IS WHAT MATTERS.IT IS LIKE LEARNING TO WALK DOWN THE SIDEWALK MISSING THE HYDRANTS,CURBS & OTHER PEOPLE WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT ALL OF THOSE THINGS.IT JUST BECOMES NATURAL & AUTOMATIC.
CARRY DOWN.
THE LANE IS DRESSED WITH AN OIL PATTERN.AFTER A FEW GAMES , THE OIL GETS PICKED UP ON THE BALLS & SPREAD OUT DOWN THE PATH OF THE BALL. LIKE A CAR TIRE IN SNOW OR A RAIN PUDDLE.THIS IS WHERE ACCURACY & EXPERIENCE COMES INTO PLAY IS WHEN YOU HAVE TO ADJUST TO THE SHOT THAT IS BREAKING DOWN.
BURNING UP.
WHEN THE BALL HITS THE LANE, IT PICKS UP OIL & BRINGS IT DOWN THE LANE FOR CARRY DOWN. WHEN A LOT OF BALLS TRAVEL IN THE SAME AREA, ALL THE OIL GETS PICKED UP LEAVING A DRY AREA.THIS IS WHERE IF YOU MOVE OUT OF THIS AREA, YOU GET DRASTIC DIFFERENCES SINCE THE AREA ON EITHER SIDE OF THIS AREA ARE OILY.LIKE THE RIVER CUTTING OUT THE GRAND CANYON.
YOU ARE DOING WAY TOO MUCH TOO SOON. I WOULD AT LEAST JUST USE ONE BALL FOR NOW. GET USED TO THROWING ONE TO LEARN IT.AS A NEWBIE,YOUR HAND NEEDS TO DEVELOP HARD CALLUSES.THIS IS YOUR BODY FIGHTING THE WEAR & TARE.IF THE BLISTERS CUT DEEP,YOUR GRIP NEEDS ATTENTION/CORRECTION.A GOOD GRIP MINIMIZES FRICTION ELIMINATING 98% OF ANY ABRASIONS.SEE IF THERE IS A COARSE SPOT, BUMP OR ANY IMPERFECTIONS IN THE HOLE. THIS WILL MOST CERTAINLY CAUSE ABRASIONS.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU COME UP WITH.
