Question
I just purchased a Fury Pearl ball (16#, Pin 2-3",2.7oz top weight). How would you drill for Med heavy to heavy oil( I am right handed, stroker, finger tips, 197 avg)?

Answer
If your a true stroker, you like an early arcing ball going down & in,medium to light revs & would like to open up the strike zone.

I would suggest LEVERAGE WEIGHT WITH 3/4 FINGER,PIN @ 1:30 ISH.This will max out hooking/hitting power for any ball. YOU CAN EVEN DO THE 3 3/8" PIN FROM AXIS POINT.THE 3/4 FINGER WEIGHT IS FOR ADJUSTING BREAK/DELAY POINT OF HOOKING.TAKE A LITTLE OUT FOR SOONER REACTION TO FIT EXACTLY INTO YOUR GAME.WHATEVER WEIGHT YOU END UP WITH ON THE SIDE,BRING IT TO 7/8 OZ.THEN REDUCE TO FIT YOUR GAME.

OUT OF THE BOX WITH LEVERAGE WEIGHT FIRST THROW A FEW PRACTICE GAMES TO GET THE GRIP RIGHT OR YOU WILL BE FOOLED BY THE REACTION . A BAD GRIP WILL FAKE A REACTION OF A BALL BY A BAD RELEASE.

ONCE THE GRIP IS RIGHT,TEST THE REACTION.IF YOU WANT MORE HOOK, JUST DULL UP/SAND THE SURFACE ON A BALL SPINNER(YOUR PRO SHOP HAS ONE.)FOR A UNIFORMED SANDING.TEST DIFFERENT GRADES OF SAND PAPER TO FIND THE CLOSEST ONE THAT FITS YOUR GAME.THEN , WORK WITH SIDE & FINGER WEIGHTS.

REMEMBER, DRILL PATTERNS ARE GENERIC! IT TAKES TWEAKING OF WEIGHTS & SURFACES TO FINE TUNE TO YOUR GAME.

I ALSO TAKE A CONTROL BALL THAT I KNOW THE GRIP IS EXACTLY RIGHT & HOW IT REACTS.I COMPARE THIS CONTROL BALL TO THE NEW ONE.

KEEP YOUR OLD STUFF IN YOUR BAG UNTIL YOUR USED TO THE NEW ONE.
